I personally love Sally Hansen and Boots lines. the only problem with Sally Hansen is that it's kinda' hard to find the make-up in stores, not just the nail stuff.
I love Bare Escentuals! So worth the money, every penny! I highly encourage you to use cosmetics that don't use animal testing. Avoid L'Oreal!

Have you used BECCA cosmetics products?

Hey girls i was wondering if any of you have tried BECCA cosmetics products and what you think of it. Thanks!Have you used BECCA cosmetics products?
I have- I just bought a whole bunch when Sephora clearanced them out @ 75% off. My favorites out of the stuff I got are-

Pressed Shimmer Powder- Gypsy and Angel- it gives my skin a nice glow. The powders are finely milled and easy to apply.

Jewel Dust- These are loose pigments- I love them, they are easy to apply and pigmented.

Compact Concealer- this is heavy duty concealer it covers my dark circle and blemishes very well. Comes in a ton of colors.

Overall I think this is a very nice high quality brand- for the things I listed above I would buy them at full price.

What are good and bad effects of being vegan in cosmetics?

Cosmetics are not held to the same standards as food, which means that harmful chemicals prohibited in food production are allowed in cosmetics, despite the fact that placing things on your lips and skin still gets them into your system.

Vegan cosmetics, while harder to find and more expensive, do not contain toxins, and are not responsible for the torture involved in animal testing. What are good and bad effects of being vegan in cosmetics?
Most brands animal test and they don't specify whether or not they animal test on the products so you have to do a bit of research before you go shopping to actually make sure that they are not tested on.

They are sometimes hard to find and expensive to buy and some brands make a branch or cosmetics or hair that are not tested on animals but the initial company does so it's an ethical decision of whether or not you want to support a company which does animal testing but not on the product itself.

    Good luck !

What kind of natural cosmetics do you use?

I've been using mineral makeup that is 100% chemical-free (unlike Bare Minerals). The company is Everyday Minerals and their website is http://www.everydayminerals.com . In addition to their all-natural cosmetics, their prices are extremely reasonable and their customer service is great. I highly recommend them for anyone who is looking for natural cosmetics. What kind of natural cosmetics do you use?
Do mean brands that make cosmetics? There's one that makes beauty products, soap, bath bombs etc from beeswax, fruits, veggies and all that good stuff. It called Lush and they have some nice stuff. (www.lush.com)What kind of natural cosmetics do you use?

If i have cosmetics bonding on my tooth?

can i use crest white stripes? If i have cosmetics bonding on my tooth?
You can use the Crest White Strips, but it will not change the color of the bonding (your teeth may end up lighter than the filling, unless of course the teeth are darker than the filling and your are trying to make the teeth whiter to match the filling). Typically you whiten first and then place the filling after. They will be able to redo the filling to match the new shade, but unfortunately it will cost money and take time...

Do you think women have the privilege of misrepresenting the way they look with cosmetics/shaving legs/tanning?

The reason why there legs look good is because they shave them. The reason why there faces are pretty is because they where make up, eye shadow. The reason why there hair is pretty it because they spend hours styling it, the reason why there feet look nice is because they get pedicures....

What would society be like if it were'nt like this??

I AM NOT COMPLAINING I LOVE IT!!...Just wondering what you think it would be like....Do you think women have the privilege of misrepresenting the way they look with cosmetics/shaving legs/tanning?
There are so many things wrong with your statement:

    1. Some women don't shave, and some don't even need to. Also, a lot of women look nice with jeans, so legs aren't so essential anyway.

    2. Many (most) women are pretty without makeup, and a lot of them use it to make their features *better*, not cover them up.

    3. Most women spend about 10-30 minutes on their hair, and some can just brush it and it'll look good.

    4. With the economy like it is, not many women can get pedicures. Women just have naturally beautiful feet, unlike most men.

I think you have highly misinterpreted women in society. Bottom line--women are just beautiful, and don't *need* those things to be beautiful.Do you think women have the privilege of misrepresenting the way they look with cosmetics/shaving legs/tanning?
Not all girls are like that.

And society doesn't revolve around girls applying mascara and styling their hair for hours.

Are the cosmetics good for our Skin?

Just Question about cosmetics. Are the cosmetics good for our Skin?
no, our skin is a living organ, our largest one! smearing anything on it to be absorbed eventually can lead to a buildup of toxins and cause all kinds of problems, anything from dryness to wrinkles to cancer. industries are making a positive move away from carcenogens (substances known to cause cancer) but it will take a lot of time, makeup is made from everything from whale blubber to parts of afterbirth to chemicals that are toxic in larger amounts. Are the cosmetics good for our Skin?
basically no..it blocks our pores!but maybe some of it is a lil bit good to our skin like maybe they put some vit A or sumthing..but it depends on people..some people are not lazy to totally wipe off the make up from the face when they go to sleep.
I only know of one, Nicole Miller brand from Melaluca my wife uses it and cannot believe the results. It is vitamins for the skin.
No if you pile LOADS on every day, but if you have lipgloss with vitamin E it is good for your lips, same applys to lip balm and chapsticks.
Not most of the time-it really does block up u'r pores which causes zits etc. BUT there r certain kinds of makeup etc. that help stop that effect. lol
no..plugs the pores, trapping toxins inside
if u hve problem skin seek professionala advice(skin specialist) dun be spending money on items u see on eth counters...sometimes its in ur genes eat right n drink tonnes of water it does good to ur body n it beats heatiness, stay away frm the sun, dun use cosmetics if its tht bad
no because it blocks your pores but if just have to wear make-up use BARE MINERALS because it all cakey and stuff

I have just become a consultant for Oriflame cosmetics. Is it a successful venture to be a part of?

Lol. I am also one of them. Where are you from? I am from India. Points I have noted are

    1. The products quality are really good but the prices are higher. For eg: Guy's shaving foam is 225 INR where as branded and much popular ';Gillette'; is available for lesser than that. Here is the problem.

    2. It works good if you have good community of people who are not bothered about prices. It is good quality for higher price.

    3. Products are good with a greater price tag

Bottom line: Good business if you have a lot of people around you. You get good commission and free products.I have just become a consultant for Oriflame cosmetics. Is it a successful venture to be a part of?
Shouldn't you have asked this question before you became a consultant for them?

I have never heard of them and when I looked it up a very unprofessional site popped up. That doesn't say much for them.

I hope you didn't pay them anything to do this.

Have you girls tried City Lips by City Cosmetics?

How did it work for you? Did you like it, how where the results? Does it irritate the skin? And what do you think about that ';long term results'; that claim is true?Have you girls tried City Lips by City Cosmetics?
I love it. It really plumps the lips. I'd estimate that it makes them a good 15% larger. As far as long term results, I doubt that is true. It does irritate the area to which it is applied, which is how it works. Also, it is not sticky.

What works best: MAC, Avon, Clinique, Mary Kay, BareMinerals, or over the counter cosmetics?

avon: isn't that good, especially for the prices

clinique: i hate thier skincare line, so i've never tried their makeup, although i heard it's good for skin that tends to break out.

marykay: i don't know anyone that actually uses mary kay anymore, so it can't be that good.

bareminerals: i've heard great things about this! i have several friends who highly reccomend this!

mac: all i use! i love it.What works best: MAC, Avon, Clinique, Mary Kay, BareMinerals, or over the counter cosmetics?
It depends on what you are looking for- certain drugstore makeup works just as well as the department store ones. Revlon does some makeup that are as good as department stores. I do use some drugstore makeup and some department makeup( Mostly MAC).

MAC ace in their color range. Their eyeshadows colors, brushes and lip products are the best of their line in my opinion. They brushes are the best(very soft) in makeup line and their makeup are very pigmented so you need to use only a little at a time.

Clinique makeup falls more to the neutral range so if you like browns or neutral colors, clinique is for you. They also have pretty lipstick colors as well. What works best: MAC, Avon, Clinique, Mary Kay, BareMinerals, or over the counter cosmetics?
Honestly, it all depends on what you are looking for. MAC has a great color selection. Avon is inexpensive and does not cause damage to skin. Clinique is one of the best drugstore brands and now they have really great hip cosmetics. MK has teh greatest skin care products for mature skin. Bare Minerals get a lot of ads but they are not pure. If you are looking for a good mineral powder, look into Milani's Mineral pressed powder. It is 1/5 of the price of BE and does a much better job. Over the counter cosmetics, such as Loreal and Revlon are both great and very reliable. Loreal owns companies such as Lancome so if you want quality and reasonable pricing Loreal is great. Some of the items in NYC, Milani and Jane are great too-
Mac is one of the most best products for makeup. They have a beautiful variety of colors and their colors are extremely pigmented. Even though Mac is more pricy than the other brands, their products last a really long time. If you are just starting out, I recommend the 217 brush from Mac which is a good for eyeshadow. This brush does everything, its good for putting colors on the lid, or crease or even as a highlight brush. I recommend you purchase at least one blush because they are all gorgeous, and a couple of basic shadows such as woodwinked. Also their lipsticks are so gorgeous, but if you don't want to spend all that money on a lipstick, Clinque has some beautiful lipsticks as well. hope i helped
It really does all depend on your preference and what you like. Only you can be the judge of which products work best with your face, but each brand does have its ups and downs...

    My preferences are:

MAC- eyeliner (fluid line) , awesome funky color eye shadows

    Clinique- foundation

Bare-minerals- I love their sparkly eye shadows... they last for a good 3 months too!

Loreal- voluminous mascara .. i go through mascara way to fast to pay a ton of money for it, and this mascara has worked better than any department store kind i have ever tried!
My opinion is fer sherrr clinique.

They're products are the only ones I use. If you want to cover imperfections. (Redness, black heads) The Almost makeup powder makeup is good, and they have lots of colors that really match a lot of different skin tones. But, if you want glamour and color and sparkles, than MAC products are good. The lipgloss is so pretty and they have really cool bright shades of eyeshadow.

So, I hope I helped!!! Good luck.
I would put 100% into MAC. It uses the healthiest strongest products that work the best. Try there lip glass for instance. the color thats in the bottle is the color that goes on your lips. I convinced my aunt to work there because she was looking for a job in the makeup industry.
EVERYDAY MINERALS. They are PHENOMENAL. Get the free starter kit!!!

    http://www.everydayminerals.com

I used to use Arbonne ,but I switched cause Everyday Minerals is cheaper and BETTER!
Definitely MAC...I've always had good luck with their cosmetics. Plus, I just absolutely love them!!! They're so fun and flirty.
    definitely MAC
i would say mac but if i dont have that much money with me then i would say covergirl
MAC, def. Ive never used any other brandd.
estee lauder makeup is awesome...i would never think of using another makeup brand....it's honestly the best
i luv the mac the best out of all
    MACs the best. :)

What is so special about the MAC cosmetics? ?

Can anybody tell the difference between MAC and regular branded make-up, and where can I find MAC products?

Thank you :DWhat is so special about the MAC cosmetics? ?
The company has become synonymous with glamour due to its ever-growing presence in the fashion industry and commitment to cruelty-free products and universal diversity.

I would say that is the main reason why it is popular. Also because of it's very high reputation in quality and celebrity endorsements.

In the US - There are free-standing MAC stores usually located in malls and there are MAC counters loacted in Hudson Belk.

In Canada - There are free-standing MAC loactions but most often only located in Toronto. They are also very commonly loacted in The Bay loactions as a MAC counter. What is so special about the MAC cosmetics? ?
I actually just bought two MAC eye shadows and the studio fix face powder. I got them from Macy's-- They are right there in the makeup section along with all of the others or you can go on the website to see if there is a MAC store close by. I love love the face powder. It doesn't feel heavy on me or anything and they have loads of beautiful eye shadow/ lip glosses that I like.

I realized a few days ago that I was actually spending $2 more on Urban Decay eye shadows, so I was really happy about it. I think they are just as good as those ones. The makeup definitely goes on easier than other brands I have used also. My suggestion would be to try one of the eye shadows or a lip gloss and then see how you like it from there.
I am a MAC user but I dont use all of their products becasue some of it you can go cheaper on. There loose powder and shadows are really good cuz u get high impact. a little goes a long way. It also depends on your experience with make up application. If you just started wearing makeup it would be a wast to be using mac on yourself because u wont get the full effect. if you are good at doing designs or color combos with your shadow or if you know to use a blush or glitter to accentuate your look then mac is for u. Loreal HIP is good too but some of thier products cost just as much as MAC and dont get as good an effect. go to sephora. find a chick with good makeup and ask what she uses becasue very few of htem use MAC.
You can find MAC at the MAC stores, or in Macy's (it's one of those makeup counters)

MAC cosmetics is top of the line, and we all swear by it because it's the best thing on the face of this earth.

The downfall? You kind of need to be rich to afford it all the time.

A one ounce bottle of foundation goes for about $30.
MAC products are much better quality %26amp; richly pigmented makeup. They are more expensive because they last longer %26amp; you won't have to buy them as often. Buy the best of the basics and fill in the rest with more affordable options if you want to try it but are on a budget.
MAC is the pioneer of eyeshadow and eye pencils, but not the rest of the make up.

So don`t hesitate if you want to buy an eyeshadow or an eye pencil from them.

    www.maccosmetics.com
If you mean regualr like drug store or walmart? It is more pigments so you dont have to use as much. It seems like you pay a lot for a small thing of make up but i last a lot longer than the cheap stuff.
i guess mac is more professional

also their makeup is pigmented and more expensive

you can buy it at their website, macys, sephora, ulta
    Packaging and Image
    Its top of the line!

MAC is all i wear and i love it!

    Great colors!
    MAC has better quality.

Why do people test cosmetics on animals before testing it out of people??

Do they not realize that they are killing inisent animals?? Animals are mans' best friend. Are they trying to take that away from us??Why do people test cosmetics on animals before testing it out of people??
Because they are evil!!! besides the results they get are not accurate........ a little bunny might react differently when make-up is smudged in his little eye then a human eye.....Essentially they are just wasting lives!!Why do people test cosmetics on animals before testing it out of people??

There are really not a lot of companies that do cosmetic testing on animals anymore.
    They are pure idiots.
I still think they should test out everything on the scumbags sitting on death row. What better way to test a product made for humans, but on a human. Oh wait, that would be ';cruel'; wouldn't it??
It is not that common anymore, but you do not have to buy anything from a company that does that if you do not agree with it.

How do you get rrid of black spots without using cosmetics?

Simpy had some good advice. In English, it is: Go and get a microdermabrasion. They are available from dermatologists and some health spas. How do you get rrid of black spots without using cosmetics?
if those black spots r fackles the u should go 4 teratment

DERMA BRASIN, should go to best darat

or if those r due to acne n pimple then also u can go for the same

otherwise use egg white on ur face it help to lighten then but take time.

while going out for a party use concealer on them before fundation.

being a cosmatologist i can suggest u thisHow do you get rrid of black spots without using cosmetics?
I have used tweezers in the past to squeeze them out, it is the best way of doing it because it also gets the root out too.
Any product that has hydroquinone will do to fade freckles, acne scars, birth marks or any type of discoloration. you'd better choose something that has AHA, ie glycolic acid to help renewing your skin while lightening the dark spots because that makes the result faster. some skin lightening products do combine the two. what i'm using right now is Neostrata skin lightening gel. it's oil free and non-comedogenic. it has 10% AHA in it.
boil the skin of orange in hot water till the water turns orange in colour. Remove the orange skin, add some sugar to the orange water and make it into a paste and apply it to your face.

Ur dark spots will diminish with a use of this within one moths continuous use.

Beware of not using much concentrated form of orange.

Orange contains Vitamin C, it enriches ur skin with that.

Sugar is a bleaching agent,it bleaches ur skin and provides softness to the applied area.

I LOVE the MAC Dazzleglass: SugarRimmed

its lipgloss but its a really nice shade over any lipstick for parties.

    i loveee it!

its also going to be discontinued so take advantage of it now!!

Can you recommend cosmetics without chemicals, what brand?

I recommend Burt's Bee and (I'm not 100% about this one) I use Simple.

Simple has cleansing wipes, moisturiser and loads more all at cheap prices!

BTW Simple has no perfumes or colourings but I don't know about chemicals, sorry.

The smell of the Simple brand is a bit weird/different the first few times you use it but you soon get used to it and it turns into quite a nice smell.

    Hope I helped!

Keep in mind: poison ivy is ';all natural'; but you don't want to put it on your face.

Why don't you want chemicals? Most cosmetics have preservatives so they don't turn or go bad. If you object to certain kinds of chemicals, be more specific. But an all-herbal product isn't necessarily the best thing for you...
    Yes.

    Try Burt's Bees.

  • What was the first thing you got from MAC (Cosmetics)?

:) It can be anything. If you have a big collection, please state one of each.. for example,

    Eyeshadow

    Lip Stick

    Blush, etc..

    Star if you like MAC!

    http://www.maccosmetics.ca/

    God Bless %26lt;3

Also, if you have any recommendations or favorites to share.. that would be great! :)

I wish I could afford it all! What was the first thing you got from MAC (Cosmetics)?
I don't have a huge MAC collection, but I make sure to love the products that I have!

Foundation: Studio Stick fdtn (I like the cream stick formula, and it isn't too heavy coverage) NC40

Eye shadow: Sumptuous Olive (veluxe pearl finish- it blends well, and is a pretty color)

Lip Stick: Hug Me (neutral pink), glaze finish

Lip Glass: only have one (limited edition peroxide), not a huge fan of the lip glasses...

shadestick: cakeshop (limited edition), but beige-ing from the permanent collection is good neutral (if you can still find it- they are phasing them out)

    paintpot: rubenesque

    blush: peachykeen

msf: i think new vegas? not sureWhat was the first thing you got from MAC (Cosmetics)?
ah i love MAC! ok the first think i got from mac was a mineralized skinfinish. the one thats half shimmer and half natural, a lipglass. i forgot what its called but its light shimmery pink, and this collection of mini brushes (the 187, 168, 117 or 119, 275, and another one that is a flat eye brush) and it came with apurple makeup bag. what ive added on to my mac collection so far is also MAC studio sculpt foundation, studio finish concealer, and the full sized 109 brush, and Fix + i want to get like 10 of their eyeshadows i wish i had the money!
skinfinish mineral powder, i put it on my cheeks forehead nose and chin to give me a slight tan apperance, i dont like looking too tanned tho!! so its perfect for that!! i love it!!

the best thing from mac in my opinion!!

i also have a couple of lipsticks which are lush!

    and eyeshadow!!

u should go to the counter and ask one of the girls to do ur makup for free and see what suits u before u buy!! XX
I love the powder fix at mac its so light
    lip gloss is great there!

Does Laroc cosmetics test on animals?

I just really want to know, so if it does, I can stop buying it.Does Laroc cosmetics test on animals?
Check the box and/or container that it comes in. Unless it says: ';Not tested on Animals'; then it will be. Most cosmetics are tested by animals and the ones who aren't proudly display it on their package.Does Laroc cosmetics test on animals?
Never heard of that brand before, but a good rule of thumb is where it's made. If it's made in China, chances are they do.

What are some cosmetics you use? what do they do for you and why do you use them? just wondering?

I use almay conceler because i like how mostureizing it is. MAC hyperreal foundation because its not heavy its light and it gives me a glow and has spf 15. I use philosphy blush because its all naturall and they dont test on animals. I use clinque bronzer the checkerd one because it has shimmer and dosnt make me look orange. I like Clinique eyeshadows because they have really good pigment. Mac lipgloss and eyeliner are my fave the lip glosses smell like vinilla and are never too sticky and eyeliner becase it lasts all day, dosnt smear, and is smooth. What are some cosmetics you use? what do they do for you and why do you use them? just wondering?
I only use Mary Kay; awesome products and good value. What are some cosmetics you use? what do they do for you and why do you use them? just wondering?
I use powder-to smooth my complexion

    concealer-to help tone down blemishes

    eyeliner(bronze and black) -to define my eyes and help make them ';pop';

    mascara- to define my lashes

eyeshadow-just cuz I like it.I usually wear a light purple or shimmery light blue
I, a lot of the time, use powdered foundation and team it up with matching shade face pressed powder to set the foundation. I prefer powdered foundation over the liquid kind. I sometimes don't use foundation and powder. I use eyeshadow, lipstick or lip crayon teamed with gloss or liquid lipstick, blush. I used to use eyeliner, but not so much these days. I also on ocassion wear waterproof mascara. But I rarely these days have something to wear makeup for!
I use urine, it smells fresh
I use Revlon liquid eyeliner, Maybelline great lash mascara, and L'Oreal colour juice (sheer lip gloss). With these three items in my purse I'm set for day or night.
I use L'oreal Volume Shocking Mascara - I really like to play up my eyes as I have quite curly lashes. I've been using this mascara for ages now and I've had a fair few compliments on my eyelashes from people I don't know!

I also use a Lancome black kohl pencil on my eyes, to smoke them up a bit.

I don't use foundation, but when I need to even out my complexion a bit, I use Sephora loose powder. it comes with a brush attached so it's great on the move!

I use Lush whipstick lipbalm - my only essential. Keeps my lips super-soft and shiny.
lipgloss, because it looks nice, and feels good.

lotion because it helps your skin

eyeshadow and eyeliner, or blush, or mascara occasionally to change it up a bit, and seem more formal...
    I use Dermablend cover-up. It's fantastic at coverage. I use Mabeline eyeliner...and that's about it, I don't wear alot of make-up.
    1. Hide It concealer (LAminerals). Yellow one for covering dark circles or dark spots. Green one for blemishes or redness.

    2. Hollywood mineral foundation (LAminerals) great coverage, makes your skin look smooth and even. Doesn't feel like u wearin a mask like liquid makeup does.

    3. Mineral veil (LAminerals) sets your makeup.

    4. Mineral bronzer (LAminerals)

    5. Avon glimmersticks waterproof eyeliner.

    6. Avon washable waterproof mascara.

    7. Covergirl brow pencil.

    8. Various eye shadows and lip stuff

Are MAC cosmetics really really good?

I was just wondering, because I was thinking about using that brand. I heard it is good, the eyeshadows stay in place, don't crease and the base for eyeshadows works just in case you need a back up. Is this all true? If show, are there any I should stay away from in the MAC eyeshadows? Are MAC cosmetics really really good?
I have a TON of mac products. The eyeshadows are as amazing as people say. They are so pigmented so the price is definantly worth it. They last a really really long time. Definantly try the pigments too, I love the colors especially old gold and dark blue green. You can get samples just to make sure you'll like them alot so you dont have to pay the $20 for a full one. Blushes are great but I would get Nars orgasm blush instead. The price isnt that big of a difference and I love it more. Lipglasses are perfect. Get the hello kitty ones before the collection is sold out. She loves candy is my favorite one. The new mineralizer face finish in perfect topping is new in the sugarsweet collection and worth the money. All the grand duos are definantly worth the money. I like the press powder. Its one I can put in my purse when im at school and dont have to worry about it because the case is so strong you dont have to worry about it cracking. Foundation is good but honestly, you can find that quality anwhere. The eyeliners probably have the coolest colors ever and they go on so easily. You can adjust the brightness or darkness really easy it too. The shadesticks are hard to apply except for the ones in the sugarsweet collection. They are good for just a eye primer though. I dont wear lipstick but havent heard any bad things about them and I hear the brushes are the best I just can't imagine spending $40 for one brush. i think I covered pretty much everything in the collection. So yeah all and all, MAC is worth the money. Are MAC cosmetics really really good?
OMG!!! MAC is greaaaat! their products last for a long time b/c the cosmetics are such good quality you dont have to use a ton of it to get the look you want... oh and if you just wanna try a product try ';studio fix'; powder first its awesome and then you'll be hooked...
I've tried a lot of makeup, but i say the best of MAC is their brushes. the foundation is only so-so, but venture to something like benefit for cream eye shadow and lancome or estee lauder for powder eye shadow
I've tried their bronzer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and concealer. All of it works really, really well. It can be expensive though. Ask someone to help you find a good color so you don't blow your money on a color that you end up disliking.
I really like the studio finish concealer. It's waterproof and has SPF. Skin cosmetics are the only once i'll actually spend money on.
i like MAC, but if you want some good quality makeup that stays on all the time, use faerie organic. its the most amazing makeup ever.

check out the website at faerieorganic.com
Yes, But Only Use Ocasionaly they tend to give

many people lots of Pimples if they use it everyday.

    Sadly
    the eyeshadows are ok...

but MAC's concealer and foundation made me breakout like hell!
Yes they ARE really really goood. I really really love them but they can be quite expensive so watch out!
    MAC rox
    its ok...

Is mac cosmetics an actual store?

I was wondering if there is an actual mac store because I've never seen one. How does it work when you want to buy stuff at the counter? Is mac cosmetics an actual store?
yes, therer is a store call MAC, in bet you that in every mall therer has to be one MAC store, and you just tell them what you want to buy, is simple or you can just order online. Is mac cosmetics an actual store?
yes, it is. They have counters in department stores in the makeup/beauty section. They also have independent stores in large cities. If you want to buy something, you just need to go up to the sales person and tell them what you're looking for and if they have it in stock, you buy it. They also can help you find a specific product for your skintone or whatever.
There is only one mac store by me, and its pretty far away. When I get to the counter I have to tell them what Im looking for and the shade. Also if i dont know what I want exactly, they help you find what your looking for. Go to maccosmetics.com and they should have a store locator so you can find one near you. :)
Yah there is. http://www.maccosmetics.ca/index.tmpl?ng鈥?/a> this is the store. You just ask them to help you or they will come up and help you. Dont doubt the pro's lol
yes, it is. usually when you walk in, or walk up a girl who works there or even boy will approach you and ask if they can help you find anything. let them do your make-up and pick out what they think will work for you. it may be pricey but i always love what i come out looking like afterwards!
ya it is an actual store they are in major cities and large malls that are usually expensive ones. you just pick out the item you want and go to a cash register like normal. they can do your makeup for you too.
yes MAC is an actual store

and if you've been to sephora

    MAC works like that too
yup i think so. and i think it is called MAC

  • Why are cosmetics tested on animals?

I think it's total bollocks when there are already too many tarts in the world why slaughter animals to create more?????Why are cosmetics tested on animals?
In England they're not, it was banned years ago.

Most companies stopped testing cosmetics on animals because of public pressure. Their products were boycotted and sales of places like Beuty Without Cruelty and The Body Shop went through the roof. Why are cosmetics tested on animals?
Animal testing has rarely been proven to be accurate. NO animal is has the exact make-up as a human. So technically, these products that are ';safe'; because they have been tested on animals, could potentially harm a human being. There are many testing alternitives such as skin testing, which is a small amount of skin taken from a human. No pain, and easy.
they need to see if they are ok to try on humans but they don't test things on animals as much nemore, i think they should just do it on paper or something but, w/e
Have you had a look on the anti vivisection sites on the internet.

I think those people do it because they can.. some of the images are like out of horror movies. Look into those animals eyes and see the fear! They don't need to experiment on them...By now they must know what agents cause damage so why keep testing.......B****** s that what i call them.
I absolutely agree; I think testing should be done on criminals in jail, such as rapists and killers of policemen and children etc. They dont deserve any better, animals do. However, make-up doesnt make a woman a tart- being a natural slut or having no self respect does that.....and man.
Because they can't test on humans. You already knew the answer to that really........didn't you?
i dont know maybe because people dont want to have makeup tested on them so they turn to the animals who (the poor guys) have no say whatsoever in it.
because what if they tried it on a human and they got a really bad allergic reaction, or something was wrong with it and they were hurt or even killed if it was toxic enough. but if they tried it on an animal, it wouldnt be so bad if it died, or got hurt, yes, it would be sad, but what if a PERSON got hurt from it? that would be worse

Does BeneFit Cosmetics test on animals?

I can't find this info anywhere, because it shows up as ';benefits of animal testing';. Does anyone know?Does BeneFit Cosmetics test on animals?
    Nope =]

    No, they don't
    Nope :)

Does anyone know about Nvey Eco makeup from Australia??? Is it really organic cosmetics?

I just know this is a new company and they use only organic ingredients. Is it true company???Does anyone know about Nvey Eco makeup from Australia??? Is it really organic cosmetics?
Actually, yes. I use their products all the time because I practice the complete Organic Lifestyle from food to everyday household items. Remember that Certified Organic mean food.

For cosmetics, their products use a much certified organic ingredients as possible but clay is a mineral and not a food product. Clay is used in the foundation. So the product cannot be 100 percent certified organic. So its mostly organic.

However, compared to most other cosmetics out there, it's the safest. Just ';Google'; some ingredients from your favorite lotion or cosmetic and you'll be surprised at the toxins in there.

Anyways, you can check out their full range of products by going to this website:

Where can I buy wholesale MAC cosmetics?

I've signed up for salehoo.com and worldwidebrands.com and it's really been a pain in the **** because these wholesalers aren't selling it for wholesale prices!

If anyone knows where I could possibly find a wholesaler who seels MAC products for a good deal, please let me know.

I WILL FIND OUT IF IT IS A SCAM ALSO. i've bought counterfeit products before.

thanks!Where can I buy wholesale MAC cosmetics?
The most successes are people that find out what

local resources are available. Warehouses that have

phones is the latest tip. If you ask some smaller dealers

at the mall you may get information as to how to get joined.

Some of the maybelline servers online have supply jobs

that give you agents ready to sell. 90% of my success

is warehousers from seasonally unplanned producers

looking for management to keep their brand updated.

10% is licensed local small suppliers that make personal

studies and update on the products.Where can I buy wholesale MAC cosmetics?
EBAY COULD HELP OUT ON THAT AREA
I work for a wholesale company that happens to have lots of MAC products!

If you are still interested please contact me and I will be happy to give you real wholesale prices!

    Emai: Find_it@comcast.net

    Alex
Mac dosn't sell wholesale to any company. Your best bet is to see if you qulify for a macpro card (macpro.com) and apply for that. Then you get a discount (up to 40% off). Once and a while there are estee lauder/mac sales in some places...where many items are 70% off.
I suggest that you go directly to the Mac website. Or if you have a Mac store in your area?
Check out eBay for lots of MAC cosmetics. Make sure that the seller has a good rating before purchasing from them.

    Good luck!

    Walgeens or Target.

Target vs. Walmart = Target/CheaperWhich store is cheaper to buy cosmetics at: Wal-mart, Wal-greens, Rite-Aid, CVS/Pharmacy, or Target?
    probably walmart
for base make-up like foundations compacts, concealers and such you are best off with a higher end brand. i like neutragena. but for lipsticks, glosses, liners, shadows, bronzers, and such you can save a lot of money going with the cheaper stuff. I love NYC, there stuff is cheap and is just as good as the expensive brands. as for stores, walmart and target will have cheaper stuff then the pharmacies.
Wal-Mart. I have found that all beauty %26amp; health items are the cheapest there.

How long does E.L.F. cosmetics take to ship?

I live in Pennsylvania and I ordered on a Friday night and recieved it a week later on Friday. Normally 5 days but weekends don't ship.

You get a tracking number in your email so you can track your order at FedEx.com.

    Edit:

I ordered 2 weeks ago and I was very happy with most of my products. I plan on buying a bunch of Studio Items that just came out and are half off! %26lt;3How long does E.L.F. cosmetics take to ship?
I live way in the south, like it Florida and I got my order in four days, but since you live closer to NY than I do, you would probably get it faster than I would.

I would say around 3 days maybe.

E.L.F has really stepped up their shipping, it has totally changed! one time I ordered and it took two weeks to get it to me and now it only takes 4 days.

My service was them was great!

Some people say that all of their products weren't there, but when I ordered 65 items, all of mine were there.

    I had a great experience. :)

I recommend it to everyone I know
it used to take months. the first time i ordered it took like 1 1/2 months. then the second time i ordered it took like 1 1/2 weeks. it just depends.
I live in Boston and it came in a week :]

Track your order . ;D its really accurate.
Whenever I order from them, it takes about 2 weeks and I live in Utah.
Pretty quick, one night actually. They make it, Santa delivers it
    forever
Not long at all. I ordered some recently and they came in about 10 days or so.
    About a week tops.

Does any1 know any valid science sites on the chemical reactions in cosmetics or the chemistry of it?

you can't put too much stock in any sites, but most college (.edu) or government (.gov) are fairly accurate. Unfortunately it usually pretty hard to find any detailed information for specific reactions on the internet. You would be better off looking for a book on the subject, or try e-mailing a cosmetics company. They may be able to help you with your questions or provide you with valuable contacts.

    How are Annabelle cosmetics? (makeup)?

How is Annabelle in general. How is there mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, concealer lip tint/gloss and any other awesome products of theirs? What's that stuff it's a clear little pot and it has what looks like a plastic or rubber lid that has a cap part sticking out like a tongue and is light blue? Anyways just answer what you can, thanks! P.S. how are their brushes? How are Annabelle cosmetics? (makeup)?
i've only tried the liquid foundation, the eyeshadow and lipgloss. i liked all of it, especially the foundation, it covers really good.

Is there such a thing as a online CCO (Cosmetics Company Outlet)?

If so what is the website address? Is there such a thing as a online CCO (Cosmetics Company Outlet)?
Well, there's something like it.. There is no CCO online but there is a make-up site I go to that is basically the same thing -lots of name brand and discontinued make-up for cheap. You may have heard of it..

    http://www.allcosmeticswholesale.com/

It has the same concept as CCO. Tons of make-up at a cheaper than retail price. For instance, MAC Dazzleglasses are only around $13 on this website instead of going to the MAC store and paying $18. Everything is real and legit. The only thing I don't like is the shipping charges. I paid $13 for shipping when it really only cost them $5 to flat rate ship it to me. Shipping's a rip off but you'll get a deal on the products. The new Smashbox Monarch Palette from the new ';Reign'; collection is only $16.99 here whereas Sephora is selling it for $42. Definitely check this site out. Also, they have lots of sales so just wait and you can buy make-up for even cheaper when they have promos going on. Last week, they had 10% off all MAC glosses. Just wait for the sales..Is there such a thing as a online CCO (Cosmetics Company Outlet)?
    Nope. Outlets never have websites.
    unfortunately not :(

Are Dainty Doll cosmetics by Nicola Roberts still available from Jelly Pong Pong?

the Jelly Pong Pong website doesn't seem to have it there anymore so I wondered (and dreaded) if it had been discontinued or something...

also, should you know, is there still a Jelly Pong Pong shop in Covent Garden, London? I've never been before... the websites say there is one in Covent Garden but I have been told different adresses and been told that there is a different shop at the same address... confused?

I want to know if they still sell that line...I hope so I LOve MAC and Heatherette..Does Mac cosmetics still sell the Heatherette line?
only if the store has any left...its limitied edition so once there out thats it

you could go to the cosmetics company outlet store...they tend to have a few remainder of limited edition mac

also try ebay....but be careful on thereDoes Mac cosmetics still sell the Heatherette line?
Your best bet is going to be to check the CCO nearest to you, the one I go to got two of them in stock the last time I went. You can ask at your counter if there is any left over, however I know at many counters most of it sold out.
It was limited edition but some stores may still have some of it in stock. You may also want to check out a Cosmetic Company Outlet if you have one near you http://www.outletbound.com/cgi-bin/store鈥?/a>

You do not have to purchase Arbonne's products through someone that lives in your area. You can locate any consultant or become a wholesale buyer for $29, purchase the products for 35%-80% off and have the products shipped directly to your door. The Arbonne baby care wash and and baby oil or Intelligence Specialty conditioning oil will help with your son's eczema as they are mild, gentle, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and help with redness and itching. Where can i buy cheap MAC AUTHENTIC Cosmetics online?

Thanks to those who reply!!Where can i buy cheap MAC AUTHENTIC Cosmetics online?
I've had the same question in mind for months, and after non-stop searching, have come to the conclusion that you can't... very disappointing, but it's a supply and demand thing I think. So many people want MAC that there's no need to sell it at a discount. MAC on ebay is fake a major portion of the time, yes. I've found discounted Urban Decay makeup, but no MAC. I've decided I ought to give up and beg some for my birthday!

If you search for discounted makeup you'll get some other brands very cheap. Try Saveonmakeup and discountcosmetics for bargain brandnames.Where can i buy cheap MAC AUTHENTIC Cosmetics online?
    Hi,

I think it's time for us to go beyond ebay. I wonder you know about http://www.ad-my-ad.com/. It had helped me a lot when i need to buy something for cheap. And you can find original products too.

    Thank You.

Compared to department store cosmetics lines MAC is not expensive. You can buy MAC online at www.maccosmetics.com or if you want to go to www.ebay.com. Ebay has tons of MAC on auction.
i know mac is very cheap compared to other cosmetic lines. if you cant afford mac then theres always other cosmetic lines that are cheaper. if you even find a place where they sell ';mac'; its probably just fake.
i got some from ebay and they wernt fakes
    www.maccosmetics.com
    maccosmetis.com duhhhh!!!
have no clue.. ebay? but you might get scammed..

Do you think MAC,Clinique etc. cosmetics are overpriced?

I was just wondering what women think about buying brands such as MAC, Clinique, Chanel, Estee Lauder, and if they are ridiculously priced or if you think its fine to buy these products regularly? Thanks :)Do you think MAC,Clinique etc. cosmetics are overpriced?
I buy them regularally. After using drug store cosmetics, I've noticed a huge difference in application and quality. I also have much less skin issues like acne and irritation now.

You just have to be more careful about what you buy. Are you going to buy something from mac you plan to use for a halloween costume? No. Are you going to invest money in foundation or a skin care regimin that you'll use everyday... Absolutely.

EDIT: I saw someone below say something about saving the good stuff for special occasions- DO NOT DO THAT- makeup has an expiration date and should never be used after that (mascara is good for 6mo for example!) a skin care regimin for cleasnsing and moisturizing must be done everyday for optimal results- not saved for special occasions!Do you think MAC,Clinique etc. cosmetics are overpriced?
If you can afford to buy the expensive brands and love them - go for it. I personally don't think they are worth the extra money but some of my friends wouldn't use anything else. I spend more on Bare Escentuals than the ';drug store'; brands and to me it's worth the money to have something that is good to my skin. It is a little annoying to know that some of the higher end makeup is made in the same factory with the same ingredients as less expensive makeup and only cost more because of the name printed on them.
I personally don't think it's pricey but the money just adds up. I get amazing results when I use MAC, it's definitely way better quality than drugstore brands. But don't take me wrong, I do also use drugstore brand make up but there have been some disappointing items I bought in the past. I think it's fine buying these products regularly, but limit yourself. Don't get stuff if you're second guessing it. I get stuff I need and what I hear are good products. If I don't like that product I learned my lesson not to get it in the future.
I go for these high end brands too. I think the quality is just better. But of course, there is also a difference between these high end brands. For example, Chanel / Guerlain / YSL / etc. are the ridiculously expensive brands as compared to say, MAC and Clinique. Sometimes you're just paying for the brand name and packaging more than anything else (not saying they don't have quality products; you'll just need to know exactly which products are worth paying for). I like to do my research on sites like MUA before making a purchase since I'll be forking out so much money.
A bit overpriced - you are paying for the advertising because these companies spend millions advertising their products.

I do think they are better quality than cheaper brands such as garnier. So you pay a bit more for quality. It's only ok to buy them regularly if you can still put food on the table!
It depends. They are really pricey but the quality of them tends to be better. Not all the time, but a lot of the time.

Buy cheap make-up for everyday use, but make sure you have a supply of really good make-up for special occasions, so that you can look nice when you want to.

    Hope this helps.
Well Im a religious buyer of certain MAC products. I couldnt live without my Studio Fix foundation and Russian Red Lippy.

Its fair to say they are more expensive than high street brands such as Rimmel and Maybeline, but you get better quality and its well worth it.
If you want quality, then you are going to have to spend a bit more. It all depends if you are living within your means. I don't think it's overpriced.
I'm a guy very sensitive to my looks and what is happening to my skin so I use MAC--everything.
if you want to spend the money on it it's fine. I don't though and feel there are plenty of cheaper products that work just as well.
yeahh kinda but they are great.
    YUP!!
i think its fine as long as you're getting what you should for your money!

How are animals tested for cosmetics?

i am doing a speech on animal cruelty and i needed some information on animal testing and how fast food places get their poultry ready for production. so if you could please help me with this, it will be greatly appreciated. How are animals tested for cosmetics?
type in google : M%26amp;M's PETA animal cruelty.... go to a site and it will show a cruelty videoHow are animals tested for cosmetics?
Do you really want to know? It's pretty disgusting.

One test, the eye irritancy test, basically puts whatever the product is into an animal's eye and monitors the result. Maybe they go blind. Maybe their eyelids swell shut. Maybe their eyes start to ooze and crust over, or bleed. Maybe nothing happens.

The Draize test is similar, but the substance is put on the animal's skin rather than in its eyes. Maybe the animal just gets some of its fur taken off. Maybe it gets a rash. Maybe it gets an infection.

Another test, the acute toxicity test, is designed to find out what a lethal dose of an item is. Basically, they poison a group of animals to see how many of them die.

Wikipedia has a pretty good article on this. It's very well-cited, so you can go to the original sources for more information.

As for preparing poultry for production, do you mean how do they raise the birds, or what they do to prepare the dead birds for consumption?
animals are tested by the people having the animal eat or shove it in or on places of the animal such as lipstick and other products and seeing there reacting but only by the animals that are alike to humans its very sad and horrible and the poultry production is them feeding the animals things to make there meat fatter so once they are killed they can have its really meat and the fake meat that grows over

i no its horrible but i hope i helped

    hope your speech is great

    %26lt;3z Brittany
Look up Henry Spira and Peter Singer...they are really influencial in the animal rights movement. Spira stopped Revlon from testing on animals in the 1980s I think (they may have changed since, but idk).

I don't like to know what they do too much, but I do know that they keep rabbits eyes open and put various chemicals in them to see what the damage is. They keep them like that for a long time. I'm sure there is more, but that is what I read and I didn't want to read any more.

    Hope this helps!
with makeup they put the makeup on the animals and see if it gives them an infection or any sort of irritation... with detergents they test to see how ';human'; eye or system reacts.. if its poisonous or dangerous... its a cruel horrible thing
    some more info for ya

  • Can someone share experiences selling Avon and/or Mary Kay Cosmetics?

I'd like to know how you got started, how you did money wise, and how you found customers. Can someone share experiences selling Avon and/or Mary Kay Cosmetics?
i sold avon for a while til they screwed up an order of mine and still charged me for it which i wouldnt pay cuz my customers we not going to pay for something they didnt want... as for getting started i found an ad in the newspaper i think it costs 10 bucks to start.. you have to buy quite a bit of stuff from books to samples (at least if you want more bussiness) the money was ok if you only want some money to mess with it is not a good way to make a living unless you sell a lot and i do mean a lot and get to a higher level then level one.. its all based on your sales.. you can ask the person who starts you out to give you some ';territory'; which will be a neighborhood or something. plus sell you whom ever you know... mary kay is a little diff. with selling mary kay you can not take another sales persons customers. avon you can... good luck have fun..Can someone share experiences selling Avon and/or Mary Kay Cosmetics?
Well, I've sold both Avon and Mary Kay.. I know, I'm a freaking hypocrite. Both companies are great with support and meeting new lady friends, plus they both sell remarkable mark-up products!

Mark Kay costs ALOT more to get started though, and alot more to stay active. You have to put in a minimum order every so often. With Avon, you only need to put in some kind of order within 3 campaigns.

Mark Kay requires parties... Avon only requires passing out brochures, so its a little less time consuming.

But I think Mary Kay gives you better rewards once you start suceeding.

See which one suits you the best, if you can afford it and have extra time, go for Mary Kay. If you would like a more relaxed company, go with Avon.

    Either way, good luck!
I sold AVON for about 2 years!!

I loved it, but now my Full Time job requires me to be there over 40 hours a week, so I don't have extra time to sell anymore.

I still use all AVON products though, I love them.

I got started by answering an ad in a local newspaper, you can also go online (www.avon.com) or call: (1-800-FORAVON) to have a rep come and sign you up.

    It only costs $10!!!

I got my customers from all the people I knew at first.

Just dropped some AVON brochures with all my friends and family and co-workers.

The main key is to ALWAYS have an AVON brochure with you, in your purse. I used to drop one whereever I went.

The bank, I would ask the teller if she or he wanted an AVON book, and most of the time they will say yes! When I went to the supermarket, the beauty salon, everywhere I went, I would ask if they would like an AVON brochure.

Eventually, that totally paid off. I am still known as the AVON lady when I go to my local bank and dry cleaners.

I got a HUGE customer base just from doing that.

So - that is a little bit for you. I did ok money wise. I would have done A LOT better if I didn't spend all of my earnings on more products for myself! But, I love AVON products and will always use them.

If I get some more time in the near future, I would sign up as a rep again!

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Email me with any questions, I will be glad to help!
If you need some inspirational true stories of AVON reps that has make it big...and how AVON became the company of ladoes selling to ladies...then log in @ http://www.geocities.com/lcming/AVON AVON SALES INSPIRATION !
I had a awful experience with Avon. The lady told me she was having a free sign up period. I signed up she gave me the booklets and all that. I put in my order and it never comes to my house. It was left at a someones house that was a drop point for when they can't find your house. The lady was never home and my items were never received. Eventually all my customers canceled there orders and I called my area rep and told them to shove it. They tried to charge me for sign up fee and the items I never got because of them. They lady even lied and said I made up the thing about free sign up and i had the freakin flier she handed out!!!! I had to write tons of letters to main headquarters to get them off my back.

I won't even buy there products they made me so mad.
well i sold avon for about 69 years and I loved it!!!!!! They are a great company and they have great products! I greatly reccommend avon because of the great product and the people that u work with they are amazing and i have had experience so go with my advice! AVON!!!!!! all the way

    :))))))
I sold Mary Kay. Honestly, it gave you a lot of training, a lot of good support. Unfortunately, I'm not the type of person who can run her own business (not everyone can!).

Getting started, you usually have an open house. Just invite all the women you know, to let them know about your new business. One thing I will tell you is starting with inventory makes a HUGE difference!!! It really helps when you can just grab it off the shelf and give it to your customer. They're more likely to buy, also.

Finding customers can be difficult for some people. I will say, for Mary Kay, anyways, always be prepared. Dress nicely, wear your ';face';(skin care and makeup), and make sure you wear your Mary Kay pin. It does make a difference! Start with the people you know (who come to your open house, or others). Then it's a matter of referrals. Always get referrals from the skin care classes you do. If you see a sharp-looking lady in the store, approach her, give her a complement, and offer her a chance to feel good. Give her your card. In most cases, she will be gracious. Also, be sure to get her contact information. Then you're not waiting for her to call, you can call her. (This makes a big difference.) When you go through a checkout line, give the cashier (and courtesy clerk) a sample, and tell her it's a thank you. Make sure you have your card attached, or a label or something.

The MOST important thing I can say is be sure to use your upline. They've been through it before, they started where you are now. Don't be afraid to ask questions, or ask for help. They are all there for you, and in most cases, it doesn't even matter if you are under them or not. Consultants and directors, even national sales directors adopt other consultants all the time, it's all a part of the culture of Mary Kay.

    Good luck!
    I love it!

I've moved so far three times, and I've always found an adoptive unit and women to support me no matter what city I end up in. I've learned how to run my own business, how to do my own taxes, how to make a goal poster and get the things I really want in life.

And, I've made a whole lot of money in the process.

Who else can say they get to have parties, be a hostess, dress up pretty and make cute gift baskets and make a lot of money? I t's my dream.

I'd be happy to share my experience with you, right now my recruiter has challenged me to find 5 women who would like to do a 20 minute phone interview with us. Anyone who participates gets entered into a drawing for a free faux fur coat, and also gets $20 free makeup from me as a Thank you. Let me know if you're interested- it doesnt hurt to learn and it will help me practice!

I was a terrible Mary Kay lady -- I think I sold one lipstick in the three months I did it. I just didn't have the heart to pressure my poor college friends into buying a bunch of expensive make-up. Negative thinking did me in -- I'm sure some of them could have afforded Mary Kay because they were buying Lancome and Clinique.

HOWEVER, I learned so much stuff from going to the meetings, and trying to sell, that I have never regretted it. I learned how to use make-up, I learned about building self-confidence, how to set goals and how to work toward them, and tricks for dealing with people. Those lessons may not have worked with my Mary Kay career, but they were invaluable in my future jobs.

Plus, I was really happy to get the cosmetics at a discount. My director was so kind, and let me hang on for ages even after I moved out of the country.

I'd say, go for it. I was a poor college student, and couldn't really afford it, but am so glad I did it! And *you* might be very successful! Just go to the meetings, think positively, and keep trying by meeting and talking to a lot of people about Mary Kay! Good luck!
I have been selling Mary Kay now for 4 years. It is real easy to get started all you need is $100 plus tax and shipping and you have enough products to give 30 women facials. The best way to keep track of your money for Mary Kay is to have a separate account and have the checks and bank card not in your purse but with your Mary Kay stuff. The best way to find customers is through referrals. Ask all of family, friends, neighbors, everyone if they would like a free Mary Kay facial. The best thing about Mary Kay is you make 50% profit. It you sell a $10 lipstick you make $5. Just click the link below to learn more.

What are the ingredients that make high-end cosmetics better/more effective than cheap cosmetics?

Thanks! What are the ingredients that make high-end cosmetics better/more effective than cheap cosmetics?
Many of them are made from expensive ingredients such as crushed pearls, caviar and exotic antioxidants extracted from rare plants like the Chilean evergreen tree.

Other popular components are anti-oxidants like grape seed extract, alpha lipoic acid, chamomile oils and green tea 鈥?protectants that are said to reduce skin damage from free radicals. Among the most important ingredients are customized cell messenger proteins such as peptides and epidermal growth factor that stimulate cell growth. What are the ingredients that make high-end cosmetics better/more effective than cheap cosmetics?
It depends. I was told ALL make-up pencils are actually made by the same company!

I don't think Lancome or Este' Lauder is really anymore effective than something cheaper. My sister uses both and her make-up and skin are not any better than mine (actually I have less wrinkles- we are 1 yr apart)

I have a favorite foundation that was the best ever (from John Robert Powers). I paid $100.00 for a couple Mary Kay products and it made my face so greasy, no matter what I switched to! I have found that $16.00 foundation, $10.00 lipsticks and $20.00 lotions are fine- I have great skin too, and I'm 42, look at my picture close-up.
There really isn't a real difference from products at the department store and at the drug store. You pay more for the brand name, packaging and marketing.

There may be different ingredients that seem fancy (green tea, olive oil, etc) but you basically get the same result. I use Revlon and Maybelline; I found that some of their stuff is much better than the expensive.
    I use Dermacia and its about $50 a BOTTLE. It really is worth it though and the ingredient is lycogel... no store brand cosmetics have it. But i do think that lancome is kindof a ripoff because loreal is the same thing... I dont think theres any real ';special ingredient';

  • Are mac cosmetics better tha all the other makeup?

I am going to go buy mac but i want to know if i am going to get my moneys worth? Is it going to leave my face blotchy and melt away and dry out my skin? All the other brands do that and i want my face to look clear. Anyone use mac?Are mac cosmetics better tha all the other makeup?
No, MAC is no better - I've bought it in the past, and except for a couple of colour lipsticks, I don't particularly care for it.Are mac cosmetics better tha all the other makeup?
To be honest, MAC is good but very over rated.

I tend to use their lipglosses, lipsticks, eyeshadows and blushers. Their foundations and concealers are not as good, so try out a different brand.
MAC is the most amazing makeup.
Yes like they say you get your moneys worth, MAC certain items are better but who wouldnt want to spend a lot for their face. But if you want your face to llook flawless....try MAC studio fix, or bare minerals...both pricey but great....ranges around 25-30
MAC and Bobbi Brown are my main things - I like MAC as it is long lasting. I've tried everything - Dior, Chanel, Gucci.......you name it. MAC is good - their eye pencils are the best on earth and their SPF 35 studio concealer in a little pot has been a life saver for my under eye circles!
I've never been a huge fan of MAC makeup. The last time I tried their sheer pressed powder it made my skin break out a lot. I've since switched to Clinique and my face has cleared up. MAC's makeup seems heavier than the other brands. So if you would like a more natural look I would try something else.

Anyone else notice this at the MAC COSMETICS counter?

    Everytime I go to the counter there is like 5 other customers, the artists come to me like 3 products and like right away ask me why I don't want all 3 or ';what don't you like about it';

Anyone else notice how hard they are pushing products on people? Like a blush, cobture, brush and bunch of crap when I only came there for a 1 SPECIFIC shade?Anyone else notice this at the MAC COSMETICS counter?
heck yeah, yesterday I went in to a MAC store in Harlem for concealer, came out with the new eyeshadow palletes ( which I lOVE, but didn't want)

Then I went downtown to Bloomingdales on 5th ave, and this man convinced me to put my credit card number down for the Holiday brushes that are coming out on the 25th.... I'm like geez calm down they act like MAC is going out of business,,,, no matter how bad the ecomny is, stores that have make-up and clothes and food have nothing to worry about cuz ppl will continue to spend their money there.Anyone else notice this at the MAC COSMETICS counter?
I personally don't use MAC or go to their counters (way too overpriced and hyped up). But that is how they get people to buy their stuff. Everyone is obsessed with MAC these days because they're hooked. Easily lead to believe that those products are the best because they're so expensive and ';celebrities use it.'; Who cares!

Those people are pushy because they have to be otherwise they wouldn't sell.

lol, they do that at every cosmetics counter. And, dohn't be at another counter looking for another brand of makeup, while the sales clerk is gone because some other sales clerk we'll be sure to come over and try and convince you to buy their make-up lol (personal experience).
not really, I live in Los Angeles, CA. The staff there always offer me a makeover and does one eye and lets me do the other eye to get the hang of how to do the makeup myself. At the end, I'm asked what would I like to take home and If I just pick out a powder or eyeshadow, I'm not questioned or anything... maybe it's just where you live
No My my Mac lady used to work at NARS and now shes across the room and nows shes at MAC %26amp; she;s alway trying to get me deal and things lol no one at MAC is like that they are always asking '' do you need help finding anything''?
the girls at the MAC Counter where I live knows that I barely where makeup and knows Im not going to buy any overpriced makeup...we're all good friends. So I dont have that problem...
