For a person whose never used or bought make-up before, what kind of cosmetics should i purchase?

To start you need a base(foundation)some people prefer powder though. Get the closest matching color of your facial skin. Next you should pick out if you want eyeliner, if you are pale skinned you should use a brown color, if tanned or darker skinned you use black. Next pick out eyeshadow. If you want a natural look most neutral colors will look good on you, if you want to go more boldly, pick what you think will look good on you. Picking out a mascara is the same that goes for eyeliner, skin toned wise. If you want lipstick pick a color that either closely matches your natural lip color or that enhances your eye color. For lip gloss, which I prefer, get something like Maybelline's shiny*licious. They smell good and don't taste bad either, another good product in lip gloss is L'OREAL's lip gloss collection, sorry the name's rubbed off of my tube. They also smell really good. Next pick out blush. and get a little kit of brushes or get the individual ones. After you finish, use a powder to ';SET'; your makeup, just lighlty dab the powder over your makeup and it helps prevent rubbing and smearing off.

I hope this has helped. You can also go to salon's they offer classes and teach you everything you need to know about makeup and the right colors for you. If you don't have the time or money, go to covergirl.com, maybelline.com, or loreal.com they have special features that help you pick out the right colors for your specific looks and skin tones you want or have. They also tell you how to apply the makeup. For a person whose never used or bought make-up before, what kind of cosmetics should i purchase?
I love and trust MAC make-up. The best thing to do is go to a department store and talk with a make-up artist there and let them give you a make over. That way you get to sample the products and find out if you like them or not. Do that a few times with different cosmetic counters and see which products you like best. Good luck and have fun. Take a friend with you, that will really be fun!!For a person whose never used or bought make-up before, what kind of cosmetics should i purchase?
TRY COVER GIRL, OR JUST GO TO A DEPARTMENT STORE AND ASK THE MAKEUP CONSULTANT (AT THE COUNTER) TO APPLY IT FOR YOU AND SEE HOW YOU LOOK BEFORE YOU SPEND ALOT OF MONEY AND END UP NOT USING THE PRODUCT.
eyeliner, lipgloss, eye shadow and eye mascara. if u want to tone your skin, then perhaps blush, foundation or press powder.
Gloss, mascara, foundation, concealer (a must), shadows, blush.

And as for brands I will recommend either L'oreal or Revlon, they are good brands, not as expensive and they have many different products
buy NEW YORK COMPANY MAKE UP OR MAC
Try growing up to makeup. Start off with some eye shadow, ewearing that everyday. Then later, move on by using some mascara too. Then later add eyeliner. Make sure you use each in stretched out steps.
maybelline or mary kay
It all depends on what kind of look you want to go for and how much money you want to spend. 8 years ago, I never used a lot of cosmetics. I was normally a lipstick kind of girl. But I met a woman who was a Mary Kay consultant, and my skin was never the same. I love Mary Kay so much, that now I'm a consultant. I use it everyday. My skin has never looked or feel better. I love the fact that I can one day be natural or the next night be glamorous, but I still look flawless and pure, and I like that. I also liked the personal service I got from my consultant, which is another reason I became a consultant. I wanted to provide the same level of service that I received.

So that's my personal story. If you want to know more about the products, email me. I'll be happy to work with you.

MAC is, for me, the best make-up. It is light weight, non-greasy and there is something for everyone. Whether you are a pro and like to go for the dramatic looks or if you are a beginner and want the au natural look....MAC can help you out. Don't be scared or shy to tell them exactly what you want.
For a person just beginning to look into makeup, go for a natural look first until you get the hang of it, and then you can experiment. Makeup is fun and can make you look beautiful, and it doesn't even have to cost you much. One of the items you should splurge on though, is a foundation and a concealer. Go to a mac counter for a the makeup artists to match you to your perfect shade. These products are important becuase they can make your skin flawless and if your skin isn't good, makeup that you put on to won't matter much. Have a makeup artist help you pick the best shade for you; if you don't, you run the risk of the product you purchase to come off too peachy or orange on you, and it won't look good.

For a beginner, you should also go out and buy a lipstick, a lipgloss, a blush, and a mascara. Go to makeupalley.com for reviews; you don't need to splurge on these, as there are products in drugstores that are equivilent or even better than department store items. Go for natural shades until you learn to use the products. Once you get the hang of it, you can then start looking into eyeshadow and eyeliners and more high end products. Have fun and experiment (:
