yes, it is. They have counters in department stores in the makeup/beauty section. They also have independent stores in large cities. If you want to buy something, you just need to go up to the sales person and tell them what you're looking for and if they have it in stock, you buy it. They also can help you find a specific product for your skintone or whatever.
There is only one mac store by me, and its pretty far away. When I get to the counter I have to tell them what Im looking for and the shade. Also if i dont know what I want exactly, they help you find what your looking for. Go to maccosmetics.com and they should have a store locator so you can find one near you. :)

yes, it is. usually when you walk in, or walk up a girl who works there or even boy will approach you and ask if they can help you find anything. let them do your make-up and pick out what they think will work for you. it may be pricey but i always love what i come out looking like afterwards!
ya it is an actual store they are in major cities and large malls that are usually expensive ones. you just pick out the item you want and go to a cash register like normal. they can do your makeup for you too.
