Why are cosmetics tested on animals?

I think it's total bollocks when there are already too many tarts in the world why slaughter animals to create more?????Why are cosmetics tested on animals?
In England they're not, it was banned years ago.


Most companies stopped testing cosmetics on animals because of public pressure. Their products were boycotted and sales of places like Beuty Without Cruelty and The Body Shop went through the roof.Why are cosmetics tested on animals?
Animal testing has rarely been proven to be accurate. NO animal is has the exact make-up as a human. So technically, these products that are ';safe'; because they have been tested on animals, could potentially harm a human being. There are many testing alternitives such as skin testing, which is a small amount of skin taken from a human. No pain, and easy.
they need to see if they are ok to try on humans but they don't test things on animals as much nemore, i think they should just do it on paper or something but, w/e

I think those people do it because they can.. some of the images are like out of horror movies. Look into those animals eyes and see the fear! They don't need to experiment on them...By now they must know what agents cause damage so why keep testing.......B****** s that what i call them.
I absolutely agree; I think testing should be done on criminals in jail, such as rapists and killers of policemen and children etc. They dont deserve any better, animals do. However, make-up doesnt make a woman a tart- being a natural slut or having no self respect does that.....and man.
Because they can't test on humans. You already knew the answer to that really........didn't you?
i dont know maybe because people dont want to have makeup tested on them so they turn to the animals who (the poor guys) have no say whatsoever in it.
because what if they tried it on a human and they got a really bad allergic reaction, or something was wrong with it and they were hurt or even killed if it was toxic enough. but if they tried it on an animal, it wouldnt be so bad if it died, or got hurt, yes, it would be sad, but what if a PERSON got hurt from it? that would be worse
