Most brands animal test and they don't specify whether or not they animal test on the products so you have to do a bit of research before you go shopping to actually make sure that they are not tested on.
They are sometimes hard to find and expensive to buy and some brands make a branch or cosmetics or hair that are not tested on animals but the initial company does so it's an ethical decision of whether or not you want to support a company which does animal testing but not on the product itself.
